Privacy Policy

How BPS Edge collects, uses and protects information when you use this website.

Last updated: 17 October 2026

In short: most of BPS Edge works without an account and without us knowing who you are. We collect personal data only when you sign in to use a tracker, we never sell it, and the site shows ads from Google, which uses cookies. The details are below.

1. Who we are

BPS Edge (“we”, “us”) is a free website offering stock market tools, personal finance calculators and technology guides. It is operated by Bhanu Pratap Singh, based in India, who is responsible for your personal data under this policy (the “data fiduciary” under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, and the “controller” under the GDPR). You can reach us at bpsedge@gmail.com.

2. Information we collect

If you only browse or use the tools, we do not ask for your name or email, and you do not need an account.

Account details
If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, profile picture and Google account ID. We never see your Google password, contacts, Gmail or Drive.
What you save
Trades you log in the Trade Tracker, income and expenses you record in the Expenses Tracker, and symbols you add to your Watchlist. These are stored against your account.
Technical data
Like almost every website, our server records basic request information - IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time - for security and to fix errors.
Cookies
Small files that keep you signed in and protect your session, and - from Google - cookies used for advertising. See section 5.

What stays in your browser. Some tools save data only on your own device, and we never receive it: the ATS Resume Builder keeps your draft in your browser’s local storage, and the JSON Formatter processes everything you paste inside your browser - nothing is uploaded. Clearing your browser data removes these.

3. How we use information

  • To provide the features you ask for - showing your trades, expenses and watchlist back to you.
  • To keep you signed in and keep your account secure.
  • To keep the site running, prevent abuse, and find and fix errors.
  • To show advertising, which is how the site stays free (see section 5).
  • To reply when you contact us.

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal data. Your saved records are never shown to other users, shared with advertisers, or used to build a profile of you.

4. Legal basis

We process account data because you choose to sign in and use a feature that needs it (your consent and our contract with you). We process technical data because we have a legitimate interest in running a secure, working website. Advertising cookies for visitors in the EEA, UK and Switzerland are used only with consent, collected through Google’s consent message where required.

5. Cookies and advertising

Cookies we set. Two strictly necessary cookies: one holds your signed-in session, and one carries a security token that stops other websites acting on your behalf. The site does not work properly without them.

Advertising. We use Google AdSense to show ads. In connection with this:

  • Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.
  • Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this and/or other sites on the internet.
  • You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors’ use of cookies for personalised advertising at www.aboutads.info.
  • To learn how Google uses information from sites that use its services, see How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.

If you opt out, you will still see ads, but they will not be based on your interests. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings; blocking the two necessary cookies will stop you signing in.

We do not use any analytics or tracking tools of our own.

6. Third-party services we use

Google Sign-In
To let you sign in without a password for this site. Governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
Google AdSense
To show advertising, as described in section 5.
Google Fonts
To load the typefaces this site uses. Your browser requests them from Google, which receives your IP address.
Database hosting (Neon)
Account data is stored in a managed PostgreSQL database run by Neon, on servers in the United States. Connections are encrypted.
Market data sources
Prices and index data are fetched by our server from public market data sources. No personal data is sent to them.

Each provider processes data under its own privacy policy. Because some of them are outside India, your data may be transferred to and stored in other countries, including the United States, with appropriate safeguards.

7. How long we keep data

Account data and your saved records are kept for as long as your account exists, and are deleted when you ask us to delete your account. Server logs are kept only as long as needed for security and troubleshooting, then deleted. Emails you send us are kept as long as needed to deal with your request.

8. Security

The site is served over HTTPS, database connections are encrypted, and saved records are only ever returned to the account that created them. No method of storing data online is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect it.

9. Your rights

Wherever you live, you can ask us to:

  • tell you what personal data we hold about you, and give you a copy;
  • correct data that is wrong or incomplete;
  • delete your account and everything saved in it;
  • withdraw your consent - for example, by signing out and asking us to delete your account.

India (DPDP Act, 2023). You also have the right to grievance redressal and to nominate another person to exercise your rights in case of death or incapacity. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India.

EEA, UK and Switzerland (GDPR). You may also object to or restrict processing, ask for your data in a portable format, and complain to your local data protection authority.

California (CCPA/CPRA). We do not sell or share your personal information for money. You have the right to know, delete and correct your information, and you will not be treated differently for using these rights.

To use any of these rights, email bpsedge@gmail.com from the address on your account. We aim to reply within 7 days and to complete your request within 30 days. You can also stop future sign-ins by removing BPS Edge from your Google account’s connected apps.

10. Grievance officer

For any complaint about how your data is handled, contact our grievance officer: Bhanu Pratap Singh, bpsedge@gmail.com. See also the Contact page.

11. Children

BPS Edge is not meant for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly create accounts for or collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has signed in, contact us and we will delete the account.

12. Links to other websites

Articles and ads may link to other websites. We are not responsible for their content or privacy practices - please read their policies.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the site or the law changes. The “Last updated” date at the top will change, and significant changes will be highlighted on the site. Continuing to use the site after an update means the updated policy applies.
