Paste a JSON array and get a CSV ready for Excel or Google Sheets, with nested objects as dotted columns. Nothing leaves your browser.

About the JSON to CSV Converter

Convert JSON to CSV online, ready for Excel or Google Sheets. Each object in an array becomes a row and every key becomes a column. Nested objects are flattened into dotted columns such as address.city, and commas, quotes and line breaks are escaped correctly.

How to use it

  1. 1Paste a JSON array of objects, or upload a .json file.
  2. 2The CSV appears on the right as you type.
  3. 3Download it as a .csv file and open it in Excel or Google Sheets.

Frequently asked questions

What shape of JSON can be converted to CSV?

An array of objects (one row each), a single object (one row), or an array of plain values (one column). A lone number or string cannot be a table, and the tool says so.

What happens when objects have different keys?

Every key seen becomes a column, in the order it first appears, and rows missing a key get an empty cell.

How are nested objects and arrays handled?

Nested objects become dotted columns like user.name. Arrays inside a row are written into their cell as JSON.

Is my JSON sent to a server?

No. Everything runs in your browser. Nothing you paste or upload is sent anywhere, logged or stored, so it is safe to use with API responses and config files.

Why do large numbers stay exactly as I wrote them?

Most online formatters convert your text to JavaScript numbers and back, which silently rounds anything beyond 2^53 - an ID like 12345678901234567890 becomes 12345678901234567000. This tool keeps every number, escape and key exactly as written and only changes the spacing.
